Get your tape measures ready, ladies and gents! In order to get you looking your best, we advise that you carefully take your own measurements, and to do so periodically, as one's weight can fluctuate.

For help on taking your own measurements, please refer to our guide below:

a) bust: measure over fullest part of the bust and across the back.

b) waist
: the rule of thumb here is to find the thinnest part of your waistline.

c) hips
: measure the fullest part of hips.

d) neck
: measure the fullest part of your neck.

e) shoulder
: measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder bone.

f) arm length
: measure from the shoulder bone to the wrist bone.

g) dress/skirt length
: measured from the base of neck to various points on leg for hem.

h) inseam
: taken from the inside of leg.

We take flat, un-stretched measurements for each garment. Please take a moment to read how we measure each type of garment, that way you can be sure your getting an accurate and flattering fit.

Bust is measured across the widest part of the bodice (usually at just below the underarm).

Waist is measured approximately 7 inches from the bust (or at the narrowest point of the bodice).

Hips are measured approximately 14 inches from the bust (or at the widest point).

Length is measured from the shoulder (at the nape of the neck) to the bottom hem.

Shoulder Width is measured from one seam where the sleeve and shoulder are joined, to the other.

Sleeves are generally measured from the seam where they join the shoulder to the end of the sleeve (cuff).

Inseam is measured from the inside of the leg (crotch) down to the hem.

A word of caution, one should never rely on a "vintage size" as a meaningful reference point, as these sizes do not correspond with today's sizing standards.

The following tables provide only estimates. Remember that every manufacturer and designer uses there own unique sizing standards.

It's also important to understand that unless you have a good grasp of the old vintage sizes, it's best not to use these as a point of reference.
